• Kellas is a full-service law firm regulated by the Law Society of Scotland. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced legal cashier or accounts practitioner to undertake client and nominal ledger transaction processing and related cashroom activities.

    • Daybook Processing: Process all client and office cash receipts, payments, and transfers in both client and firm ledgers using LawWare practice management software

    • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules working closely with the Cashroom Partner

    • Bank Reconciliations: Undertake daily, monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations for both client and firm bank accounts and multiple designated client accounts

    • Banking: Set up payments and transfers from client and firm bank accounts for approval by senior managers

    • Record Keeping: Ensure adequate and secure electronic filing and storage of all sales and purchase invoices, bank statements and other primary accounting records

    • Experience: Preferred minimum of 3 years' experience as a legal cashier or in a similar financial role within the legal sector.

    • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules and transaction processing in LawWare. A working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping would be advantageous.

    • Skills: Strong numeracy skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in LawWare and Microsoft Office 365.

    • Communications: Excellent communication skills and a committed approach to teamwork are essential.

    • Education: SOLAS accreditation is preferred but we would sponsor a suitable candidate to undertake the SOLAS qualification.
